How Our Business Started

At JFP Concept Learning, we’ve been providing expert tuition throughout Newcastle, Canberra and the Hunter Valley since 1998. Founded by Fiona and Johnston Parkinson, our business is built on a wealth of experience both in the classroom and in academia. The Parkinsons moved back to Newcastle after several decades abroad and - when they recognised the need for quality, accessible music teaching and academic tutoring services -they began JFP Concept Tutoring.

In the early days, the business was a music school run from the family home. Since then, it’s grown into one of the Hunter valley’s premiere educational institutions. We offer tutoring in a wide range of subjects, from music and history through to maths and English.

About JFP Concept Learning

At JFP Concept Learning, we offer tutoring in both face-to-face in our studio and online formats to fit in with the busy schedules of our clients. We provide customised lessons, either academic or musical, to help students reach their potential and become motivated and independent learners. Our tutors will identify a student’s learning style and develop a strategy tailored to their needs.

We offer tutoring services across multiple school curricula - from the IB to the HSC, as well as lessons in a variety of musical instruments - including violin, viola, flute, clarinet, saxophone and piano.
